Waterborne paint drying booth designed for shortening the drying time of water-based paints
The waterborne paint drying system is engineered to reduce the drying time of water-based coatings or paint.
The drying system is used throughout both spraying and baking stages. During spraying, fast downward airflow moves air across the vehicle and into the extraction unit, helping waterborne coatings begin to flash off quickly. During baking, heated air reaches the painted surface more directly, drawing out moisture and fumes at a faster rate. This combination shortens curing time for automotive repairs and increases overall shop productivity.
Waterborne paint spray booths are developed to help water-based coatings achieve their best possible finish. These coatings continue to gain popularity because they are more environmentally friendly than solvent-based products.
Although application steps are similar, water-based paints have higher viscosity and behave differently once sprayed. Solvent-based coats typically reach 2–3 mil in thickness across three layers, while three layers of water-based coatings are roughly half that. This thinner coverage works well for multi-color designs or striped finishes, but it also highlights surface flaws more easily.
